Joyce began her career in Cleveland at Penton Publishing's MACHINE DESIGN magazine and later worked on the editorial staffs of several New York based publications. Schwarz also maintains a private consulting and career development practice for CEO's, celebrities, national personalities, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs ranging from political candidates to Miss Fitness America, Miss California, and Hollywood VIP's from such studios as MGM, Sony and New Line.
A professional speaker, she offers presentations on such topics as "Workplace of the Future", "Going Wireless", "Trends: What's Hot and What's Not" and more for such corporations as Nortel, AT&T, PacBell, and organizations ranging from the California Film Commission to the California Arts Council to Women in Film, DGA, WGA and Women in Communications. Foundation grants she has garnered range from a matching NEA grant to California Arts Council grant to Colorado Women's Foundation' programming. Schwarz is well known to Southern California digital leaders for her cable show launched in 1992 that bridged the gap between Hollywood and Silicon Alley.

She is continuing development on her own projects ranging from Futurework.com to Siliwood.com to Cuttingthecord.com (a wireless consumer/trade portal). As Workplace of the Future Forum leader for America Online, she created 35 pages forecasting the future of business.
